I thought that if I would write my first post about Chanel, Karl would finally invite me to one of his shows. Elegant texture, simple cuts, modern vision, new attitude, masculine looks: that`s what Coco Chanel brings to fashion. This means a whole new surprising perspective to the interwar period but also our Bible of fashion nowadays. Mysterious figure for those who were close to her and resolute to conquer the world, Gabrielle Chanel was for many years an out patterns woman, within a conformist society. There`s no such thing as public figures that would not know her: Cocteau, Picasso, Max Jacob, Reverdy, Misia Sert, Diaghilev, Stravinski. Furthermore her creations inspire us today and teaches us that some classic pieces have to find their place in our wardrobe all the time. That`s what Karl Lagerfeld,as well, is trying to say to us,from several years, through his collections. Karl keeps the classy and classic from Coco but always adds the glow and the brilliance that clothes need to make women who wear them feel bold and strong... Just like Coco Chanel succeded long time ago.
